Berlin, Berlin!
Homage to a City
“Berlin, Berlin” was the title of a TV series which started in 2002 when our family– on behalf of our ten- year- old daughter - was gathering once a week on the living-room couch to watch it.
In 2020/21 during my current wanderings through the city of Berlin I am collecting different cards, flyers and brochures, all kind of printed materials, that inform about events, shows, museums and sites of public affairs. In my eyes these objects offer me a view through which the city is representing itself.

Get closer- show from out of the lockdown

Venue:

"Get closer" is an exhibition made for all artists, curators and galerists, for all who make art and love art and had no chance to do their work and show their work within the difficult times of the corona- lockdown.
I used the invitation cards of artist- friends and galleries out of my collection since about 2005 to make pop- up cards about one artist friend together with 2 or three more cards. My intention was creating a small stage and telling a funny story changing the image of the card somehow into something else.

Introducion by Dr. Gertrud Roth- Bojadzhiev, Art Historian, Augsburg

Kathrina Rudolph is showing new works in the City Hall of Stadtbergen: Works On Paper and Paintings.
During a workstay in Finland in the summer of 2015 the series "Greens" was developed. There are 6 sheets of an old tapestry found in the wardrobe of the residency- on which she applied many variations of Blues, Greens, and Browns into the leafpattern of the tapestry. As a manifestation of light situations during different times of the day and different views from the house these images are meant as an approach to the subject of landscape painting.

Kathrina Rudolph mainly works with press fotos from the "Süddeutsche Zeitung", Munich.
In this exhibition new large-scale paper works are shown besides some series of her former works.
In these she uses techniques which come from the workshops of the old masters of the late medieval ages. They are made with gesso, engraving and bole gilding. In these images she deals with the subjects of war and trauma, political power and the fate of the individuals.
