Kathrina Rudolph mainly works with press fotos from the "Süddeutsche Zeitung", Munich.
In this exhibition new large-scale paper works are shown besides some series of her former works.
In these she uses techniques which come from the workshops of the old masters of the late medieval ages. They are made with gesso, engraving and bole gilding. In these images she deals with the subjects of war and trauma, political power and the fate of the individuals.
In her new work the subject has changed. Often she uses images of film- stills from published film reviews as a symbol of the attitude of life in our time.
They are made with egg tempera on paper in several variations of color and seem like wood cuts, at the same time they relate to Pop Art prints.
Also she shows  the series "paperballs", which is an installation out of 70 balls made of paper which carry drawings of images of  leading women from politics, literature, art and society from press fotos of newspapers, making a comment to the image of women as it is shown in the daily press of our time.
